Version 7 of the eNanoMapper Ontology1 (ENM) (currently maintained and developed via NanoCommons funding) was released on the 4th February 2021. This new version houses annotation properties from various related ontologies, including the BioAssay Ontology (BAO), the Chemical Information Ontology2 (CHEMINF), the NanoParticle Ontology (NPO), the Relation Ontology (RO) and the Semanticscience Integrated Ontology3 (SIO). More information about the addition of these annotation properties can be found at GitHub issue #240. The addition of annotation properties is included in the development workflow, and new inclusions will be part of future releases. The new release includes the integration of MESOCOSM terms4 provided by H2020 project NanoinformaTIX and integration of terms for nanomaterials characterisation from H2020 project ACEnano. In addition, the release also includes more JRC materials. Finally, in this release, we removed the Human Physiology Simulation Ontology (HUPSON) external OWL file as we only used one term from this ontology, and we updated the GitHub repository with more granular permissions for easier community development.
