NanoCommons, as a starting community infrastructure, is the phase 1 of a longer-term plan to implement the Nanoinformatics Roadmap (developing currently between the EU and US) and as such a key element will be to demonstrate the relevance of the research infrastructure for the widest set of Users and Stakeholders, via the demonstration of case studies. The requirement analysis and the outreach programme will identify gaps in existing approaches and unmet needs in the different communities, particularly in the areas of data science and modelling. This will then be translated into case studies and new outreach and dissemination activities to fill gaps not fulfilled by current projects and programs.
Thus, the objectives of Working Package 9 (WP9/NA3) are to:
- identify gaps in the existing dissemination approaches by various outreach activities such as roadshows or community workshops on gap topics in data science.
- develop, initiate and support case studies – this includes well-defined individual case studies selected according to specific criteria by an advisory panel as well as group case studies (e.g. hackathons).
- develop, based on the experiences that will be drawn from objectives 1 and 2, the best practice SOPs and guidance documents that then can be disseminated to a larger community;
- organise specific dissemination workshops during the project dedicated to specific stakeholder needs as identified by requirements analysis and learnings from iterative TA activities.
